Sword coast legends mods mad hatter12/28/2023 I enjoy it, though I don't know if I'll ever get to play it.īladesinger.so cool. Mastermind doesn't intrigue much, but Swashbuckler is AWESOME.īattlerager is probably not going to be as powerful as previously existent Barb options, but it's really flavorful and really cool. I like it, but I'm already seeing some hate about how it's OP. We're getting closer to more "defendery" options other than the Sentinel feat. Sure, it lends them more power than some might like, but I think it's a welcome evolution of the game mechanics that makes combat and character building more interesting. The change the way the game plays strategically. They change the way you build characters and make choices about how to develop your character. The new cantrips are powerful and interesting and dynamic. The Crunch (as opposed to the Fluff that makes up the majority of the book) is really, really interesting. I even chuckled at how they basically claimed all the 4e changes were reversed (lore wise in the realms) and the world was back to mostly how it was before. I loved the historical timeline/recap of the Forgotten Realms. I dunno if that was the plan anyway.but it makes me feel bad for the FLGS selling it at list who need to turn more of a profit per sale. Overpriced at list price, perfect at what you can get it for on Amazon. I would say this is a book that you just need one copy per group, and only if you're making new characters. I'm not trying to bash it, just trying to help people make a decision. I would have liked to see information on famous NPC's of the area. Deities are explained better and locations get a description. This is fun, but there are no new spells, so don't get your hopes up in that department. ![]() Spells: There are four new cantrips for the arcane casters, but they're all designed for the melee casters (Pact of the Blade Warlock and the new Wizard Bladesinger). I do like the fact that several of them have a race restriction. Races: Similar to the classes, some get new things, others just fluff.Ĭlasses: There are quite a few interesting sub-classes, but Bards, Druids and Rangers get nothing but a small bit of background fluff. There are 12 new backgrounds in this book and only ONE of them (Far Traveler) is a full background. Pick two proficiencies, some languages and starting equipment from this listĬopy the traits, flaws and ideals from _ background in the Player's Handbook. New Backgrounds: Most of them use the following system: If it hadn't been for the Amazon pre-order sale $23-ish, I might have skipped it. Price: $39.95 is ridiculous for a 154 page supplement. I received my book yesterday and wanted to share my feelings on it.
